The Wonder of Learning in Madison, Wisconsin:
Opening Doors to Early Learning
The traveling exhibit The Wonder of Learning will be on display in Madison, Wisconsin from January to May 2019. Hosted by Preschool of the Arts, Madison Public Library, and Overture Center for the Arts, the exhibit is an unprecedented opportunity for educators, policymakers, and families to explore the incredible learning potential in the early years of childhood. Since its debut in 2008, more than 120,000 people have encountered The Wonder of Learning and engaged in professional development initiatives aimed at advancing knowledge and action for early childhood education.
Professional Development Opportunities for Educators
The Wonder of Learning visually presents the internationally acclaimed Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education using images and text, interactive multimedia, handmade artifacts, and publications. The exhibit explores how teachers and students work together to construct knowledge around compelling projects.
Teachers and other professionals will gain new understandings of how to support child-centered learning by visiting the exhibit and engaging in the many professional development opportunities affiliated with exhibit such as conferences, workshops, and online resources.
Through the exhibit, educators encounter some of the most effective approaches to teaching and learning in the world, with ideas they can immediately apply to their own practice.
To ensure this investment delivers enduring benefits, The Wonder of Learning will provide educators and caregivers, regardless of zip code, equitable access to professional development so that every child’s teacher is inspired and prepared to provide the best possible environment for learning.
